The Merdeka Curriculum is designed to create flexible, contextual, and student-centered learning, while deep learning emphasizes the development of deep understanding, critical thinking, and reflection. This research employed a descriptive quantitative approach, using a questionnaire distributed to elementary school teachers via Google Form. Data were analyzed using descriptive statistical techniques in the form of percentages and mean achievement scores. The findings indicate that the implementation of the Merdeka Curriculum is in the high category, with most teachers demonstrating the application of deep learning strategies in their teaching practices. Teachers with longer teaching experience tend to achieve higher scores in both aspects. These results suggest a positive relationship between teaching experience and teachers' readiness to transform learning. Therefore, continuous training and pedagogical mentoring should be enhanced, particularly for teachers with shorter work experience, to ensure the equitable and effective implementation of both the Merdeka Curriculum and deep learning.
Nia Anggita Pipin Angela Adlina Nur Rohmah Dinda Restya Awalina Barokah Bramianto Setiawan Copyright (c) 2025 Nia Anggita, Pipin Angela, Adlina Nur Rohmah, Dinda Restya, Awalina Barokah, Bramianto Setiawan https://creativecommons.org/licenses/by/4.0 2025-10-22 2025-10-22 1 4 Origami Media for Teaching Islamic Cultural History: An Experimental Study in 9th Grade MTs Ma'arif Balong https://proceedings.ums.ac.id/iceiss/article/view/6296
Islamic Cultural History (SKI) is a subject taught in Madrasahs to help students recognize, understand, and appreciate the values and legacy of Islamic civilization. However, in grade 9 at MTs Ma'arif Balong, student learning outcomes remain below expectations, with an average score of 65, which does not meet the Minimum Mastery Criteria (KKM) of 72. This study aims to examine the effectiveness of origami-based learning media in improving students' learning outcomes in SKI. A quantitative approach with a quasi-experimental design was employed, involving 54 students selected through cluster sampling. Data were collected through written tests and documentation, then analyzed using mean score comparison and the Mann-Whitney test with SPSS software. The results show a significant difference between the experimental and control groups. The experimental group, which used origami as a learning aid, achieved a mean rank of 85.18, while the control group achieved 59.62. The statistical analysis produced a significance value of 0.000 < 0.050, indicating a positive effect of the origami media. These findings suggest that incorporating origami into classroom instruction enhances student engagement, comprehension, and overall academic performance in SKI. The study recommends that teachers develop skills in designing creative instructional media, including origami, and that Madrasahs provide adequate learning materials and a supportive environment. Furthermore, future research is encouraged to investigate the long-term impact of origami-based learning on students' knowledge retention and motivation.
Halida Umami Muhammad Dwi Fajar S Syarifah Copyright (c) 2025 https://creativecommons.org/licenses/by/4.0 2025-10-22 2025-10-22 5 10 Project-Based Learning Implementation in Vocational Accounting Education: A Case Study at SMK Negeri 1 Klaten https://proceedings.ums.ac.id/iceiss/article/view/6297
This study investigates the implementation of the Project-Based Learning (PJBL) model in accounting subjects at SMK Negeri 1 Klaten, particularly in the XI AKL class. The background of this research is the need for innovative learning models that enhance students' understanding of accounting through real-world experiences. The purpose of the study is to describe the stages of PjBL implementation and identify the challenges faced by teachers and students. A qualitative descriptive method was employed, with data collected through interviews, observations, and documentation. The findings show that the PjBL model was applied by assigning students to complete accounting cycle projects based on data from local service-based MSMEs. The learning process involved project planning, data collection through field visits, group discussions, and the preparation of financial reports. The model improved students' collaboration, critical thinking, and engagement. However, several obstacles were identified, including students' varying academic abilities, limited prior knowledge of accounting, and issues in group task distribution. It is recommended that future implementation be accompanied by strengthened guidance, differentiated support, and structured evaluation to maximize learning outcomes and prepare students for the professional world.
Evanur Khasanah Surya Jatmika Copyright (c) 2025 https://creativecommons.org/licenses/by/4.0 2025-10-22 2025-10-22 11 19 Unveiling Causal Complexity in Mathematics Achievement: A Research Design using Fuzzy-Set Qualitative Comparative Analysis (FS/QCA) https://proceedings.ums.ac.id/iceiss/article/view/953
Mathematics achievement is a critical indicator of educational success and a key determinant for future STEM careers. However, national assessments in Indonesia reveal persistent challenges and significant learning gaps in student numeracy. Existing research has identified a multitude of influencing factors, yet predominantly relies on linear models (e.g., regression, SEM) that estimate the 'net effect' of each variable in isolation. This approach overlooks the complex causal configurations where different factors interact synergistically. This paper addresses this methodological gap by proposing a research design that employs fuzzy-set Qualitative Comparative Analysis (fs/QCA). The study will utilize secondary data from the Indonesian National Assessment to analyze how combinations of school, family, and student-level conditions lead to high mathematics achievement. The expected contribution is the identification of multiple, distinct pathways-or 'causal recipes'-to success, offering a more nuanced foundation for developing targeted and context-specific educational policies.
Gerry Filiestianto Copyright (c) 2025 Gerry Filiestianto https://creativecommons.org/licenses/by/4.0 2025-10-22 2025-10-22 20 24 Exploring The Need for Reflective Journal as Assessmentas-Learning in A Government LMS: A Study of BPOM Employees https://proceedings.ums.ac.id/iceiss/article/view/6298
The advancement of digital learning in government institutions calls for assessment models that go beyond summative testing and foster self-regulated learning. These preliminary needs analysis investigates the perceptions and learning needs of employees at the National Agency of Drug and Food Control (BPOM) regarding the development of a reflective journal as an assessment-as-learning feature within the LMS IDEAS. Using a quantitative approach, the study involved 85 active LMS users who responded to an online questionnaire. The results indicate that while current assessments such as pre- and post-tests are perceived as clear and relevant, they are considered insufficient in promoting key aspects of self-regulated learning- namely self-monitoring, evaluation, and adaptation. Respondents expressed strong needs for additional features such as personalized feedback, structured reflection tools, and mechanisms that connect learning with workplace practices. These findings suggest that integrating a reflective journal with guided prompts and flexible formats into the LMS has the potential to enhance autonomous learning and support continuous professional development among civil servants.
Kiki Kurniati Triana Rejekiningsih Sri Sumaryati Copyright (c) 2025 https://creativecommons.org/licenses/by/4.0 2025-10-22 2025-10-22 25 32 Disparities in Access and Sustainability in Inclusive Education Infrastructure in Indonesia https://proceedings.ums.ac.id/iceiss/article/view/6299
The present research explores the efforts of Indonesian schools to respond to the realities of inclusive education. Based on a qualitative case study design, data were drawn from interviews, observations, and document analysis in urban, suburban, and rural contexts. The study establishes inclusive education policies, but their operationalization within the schools is a significant issue. Accessibility provisions such as ramps and adjustable classrooms are found to be desirable. In many locations, inadequate teacher preparation often obstructs the effective implementation of assistive technologies. Moreover, most buildings are poorly maintained and experience a rapid quality decline. Teachers tend to acquire inclusive practice through experience and not formal training programs. Although parental involvement is increasing in urban settings, it remains shallow in rural settings. In some areas, schools are forced to get along with the hardships of inclusion on their own, frequently without much assistance from neighboring authorities. Lastly, this study stresses that real inclusion requires effort beyond the simple enactment of policies; it requires ongoing effort in teacher professionalization, well-thought-out infrastructure, more active community participation, and adaptive governance structures. The findings of this study provide valuable lessons on crafting more inclusive and supportive learning environments in Indonesia and elsewher.
Fahmi Syarifudin Copyright (c) 2025 https://creativecommons.org/licenses/by/4.0 2025-10-22 2025-10-22 33 42 Implementation of The Problem based Learning (PBL) Model on Students' Mathematical Connection Abilities https://proceedings.ums.ac.id/iceiss/article/view/6300
This research was conducted with the aim of identifying, describing, and analyzing findings from various studies discussing the implementation of the Problem-Based Learning (PBL) model in impoving students mathematical connection skills. These results indicate that PBL is a potential pedagogical approach in supporting the development of students' mathematical connection skills at various educational level.
Muhamad Asep Ridwan K Kusnandi Copyright (c) 2025 https://creativecommons.org/licenses/by/4.0 2025-10-22 2025-10-22 43 49 The Application of Deep Learning in Fiqh Education: Creating Humanistic and Relevant Learning in The Digital Age https://proceedings.ums.ac.id/iceiss/article/view/6301
Teachers in fiqh education, in particular, still use a teacher-centered approach, where the teacher is the main figure in the teaching process. With this method, they rely solely on lectures and memorization as the dominant techniques. Several madrasah ibtidaiyyah teachers indicated that 72% of teachers only emphasize the cognitive aspect without involving deep meaning or value reflection. The research method used in this study is a qualitative approach with library research. Secondary data was obtained from various valid and relevant scientific literature, such as books on Islamic education theory, pedagogy, and reputable journal articles related to deep learning, fiqh education, and humanistic education. Data collection techniques involved identifying literature sources based on their relevance to the topic of fiqh education, while data analysis techniques used the Miles and Huberman method, which involves three stages: data reduction, data display, and drawing conclusions. The results of this study indicate that fiqh education through the deep learning approach emphasizes education that humanizes humanity. Through a deep learning approach, Islamic law is conveyed in a dialogical, inclusive, and tolerant manner, in accordance with the values of maqasid al-syari'ah and rahmatan lil-'alamin. Thus, the integration of deep learning in fiqh education can create a humanistic and relevant learning experience in the digital age. As the urgent need for fiqh education is to build an adaptive, critical, and humanistic Islamic education rooted in humanitarian values. Through this strategy, fiqh is not merely a subject to be memorized but also a source of ethics, spirituality, and policy that is alive in today's digital reality.
Abdul Azis Fitra Asysyifa Lau Han Sein Siti Khulasoh Copyright (c) 2025 https://creativecommons.org/licenses/by/4.0 2025-10-22 2025-10-22 50 56 The Role of The Teaching Campus Program in Improving Teaching Skills and Soft Skills of Accounting Education Students https://proceedings.ums.ac.id/iceiss/article/view/6302
This study is to describe the implementation, obstacles, and impact of the Teaching Campus Program in improving the teaching skills of students of the Accounting Education Study Program, University of Muhammadiyah Surakarta. The research with a case study research design was carried out through interview and documentation data collection techniques involving Field Supervisors and programparticipant students. Theresults of the study show that the implementation of the Teaching Campus Program is carried out in one semester through three stages, namely the preparation, assignment, and post-assignment period. Data were obtained from a systematic search on Google Scholar, DOAJ, and the national education repository using the keywords 'deep learning' and 'mathematics assessment,' focusing on articles published since 2022 that are relevant to primary and secondary education in Indonesia. Ten articles met the inclusion criteria and were analysed thematically to identify patterns of strategies, outcomes, and the relationship between assessment and deep learning. The results of the study indicate that assessment plays a role not only in measuring final outcomes but also in monitoring thinking processes, conceptual understanding, and the ability to connect material to real-world contexts. The implementation of continuous formative assessment, projects, portfolios, and instruments based on Higher Order Thinking Skills (HOTS) has proven effective in promoting student engagement, providing constructive feedback, and strengthening 21st-century skills. The integration of authentic assessment with innovative learning models such as Indonesian Realistic Mathematics Education (PMRI), Problem-Based Learning, Project-Based Learning, and interactive evaluation technology enriches the learning experience and supports the achievement of the Pancasila learner profile. Challenges include limitations in teacher understanding, learning resources, and a tendency for assessment to focus on final outcomes. This study recommends teacher training, the development of practical guidelines, and further research to optimise the integration of assessment and deep learning in the context of mathematics education.
Putri Alawiyah Lubis Iin Kartini Kania Utari Lisa Rahmadani Pohan Sischa Monika Lumban Toruan Copyright (c) 2025 https://creativecommons.org/licenses/by/4.0 2025-10-22 2025-10-22 138 149 Implementation of Pancasila Student Profile in Economic Learning at SMAIT Al-Huda Wonogiri https://proceedings.ums.ac.id/iceiss/article/view/6315
The implementation of the Pancasila Student Profile (PPP) in economic learning is an important part of realizing students with character and competitiveness. Globalization, digitalization, and the increasing demand for 21st-century skills necessitate that English language teaching (ELT) move beyond traditional methods and adopt innovative pedagogical frameworks. In this context, English is not only a subject of study but also a key competency for global communication, academic achievement, and professional success. This paper examines the role of English education in advanced learning environments, highlighting critical issues such as the integration of digital platforms, the promotion of learner autonomy, the cultivation of critical thinking, and the incorporation of sustainability into language acquisition.Drawing on a mixed-methods approach that combines surveys, interviews, and classroom observations, the study investigates how students and teachers perceive the benefits and challenges of advanced learning practices in English classrooms. Findings reveal that digital tools such as Grammarly, Write & Improve, and other AI-based platforms play a significant role in enhancing language accuracy and learner motivation, yet they also risk fostering overdependence and reducing deeper engagement with language use. The paper argues that English education must strategically integrate technology, global competencies, and critical pedagogy to align with the goals of advanced learning. It concludes by offering recommendations for curriculum innovation, teacher professional development, and institutional support to foster sustainable and future-ready English education.
Isnaeni Sofiana Copyright (c) 2025 https://creativecommons.org/licenses/by/4.0 2025-10-22 2025-10-22 177 181 Tamansiswa and The Ethics of Non-Punitive Discipline: Reframing Punishment in Progressive Education https://proceedings.ums.ac.id/iceiss/article/view/6317
This article reconceptualizes Tamansiswa's among system as a theory-bearing model of non-punitive discipline that contributes to global progressive education. Drawing on a qualitative multiple-case study of two Tamansiswa primary schools, the article reanalyses empirical data from the author's master's thesis using ethics of care and critical pedagogy as complementary lenses. Findings demonstrate that Tamansiswa's rejection of punishment is philosophically grounded in respect for the child's kodrat alam and the cultivation of budi pekerti; that teachers as pamong exercise ethical authority through sustained relational presence, moral exemplarity, and individualized guidance; that discipline is reframed from obedience to moral autonomy and self-regulation via dialogical reflection and communal norms; and that among operates as a Southern Theory, offering a decolonial alternative to punitive, Eurocentric disciplinary paradigms. The analysis shows how care-based practices and anti-oppressive pedagogies cohere to produce agency and communal responsibility without coercion, and how indigenous ethical vocabularies can inform restorative and autonomy-supportive frameworks. Practical implications include reorienting teacher education toward relational competencies, embedding ethical frameworks within restorative policies, and recognizing local wisdom as a curricular resource. The study's bounded case design and reliance on secondary analysis limit claims of generalisability; future research should pursue comparative, longitudinal, and mixed-methods studies to evaluate scalability and outcomes. By foregrounding Tamansiswa as both a historical praxis and a contemporary, normative resource, the article advances an ethical and ideological reframing of punishment with theoretical and practical relevance for educators and policymakers globally. The findings invite policymakers to integrate culturally grounded ethics into national disciplinary frameworks urgently.
M Miftakhuddin Udin Syaefudin Saud Arie Rakhmat Riyadi Copyright (c) 2025 https://creativecommons.org/licenses/by/4.0 2025-10-22 2025-10-22 182 195 The Role of Education in Building Society https://proceedings.ums.ac.id/iceiss/article/view/6318
These instructions give you basic guidelines for preparing papers for ICEISS 2023. The research employed a descriptive qualitative method, utilizing in-depth interviews, participatory observation, and documentation. The informants included the boarding school leaders, senior teachers, senior students, and alumni. The findings indicate that core values such as sincerity, simplicity, self-reliance, Islamic brotherhood, and responsible freedom are effectively internalized through daily habituation, role modeling, and a highly educational environment. These values shape the students into honest, disciplined, socially responsible individuals with strong empathy and leadership skills. The resulting character becomes essential social capital for building a civil society that is ethical, tolerant, just, and civilized. Furthermore, Gontor’s educational strategy has proven to be adaptive to globalization and technological advancement while maintaining a firm commitment to Islamic values. The study concludes that Gontor’s educational system not only forms pious individuals but also prepares its students to become transformative agents in society.
Dwi Purwati Sigit Haryanto Copyright (c) 2025 https://creativecommons.org/licenses/by/4.0 2025-10-22 2025-10-22 203 213 The Role of Social, Cultural, and Economic Environments in Determining Employment Opportunities for Vocational High School Graduates https://proceedings.ums.ac.id/iceiss/article/view/6320
This study explores the role of social, cultural, and economic environments in determining employment opportunities for vocational high school graduates, with a case study at SMKN 1 Mondokan, Indonesia. Using a qualitative case study approach, data were collected through in-depth interviews, participant observation, and documentation involving students, alumni, teachers, parents, and industry partners. The results show that the social environment, particularly family support, teacher guidance, and peer influence plays a significant role in shaping graduates' readiness and access to employment. Culturally, local values, societal norms, and school work culture influence graduates' career perceptions and decisions, often creating tension between vocational ideals and traditional community expectations. Economically, the financial condition of graduates' families and the limited availability of local job opportunities significantly impact employment outcomes. Many graduates are compelled to work outside their area of expertise due to economic pressures or the lack of industry-aligned opportunities. Furthermore, although the school has implemented vocational programs such as internships, teaching factories, and entrepreneurship education, collaboration with industry remains inconsistent and fragmented. The study concludes that enhancing employment prospects for vocational graduates requires a systemic integration of educational institutions, industry partnerships, family involvement, and culturally adaptive career guidance. The findings contribute to strengthening the link between vocational education and the labor market, especially in semi-rural settings.
Joko Budi Utomo Sigit Haryanto Copyright (c) 2025 https://creativecommons.org/licenses/by/4.0 2025-10-22 2025-10-22 214 222 Strengthening Student Punctuality Discipline through The Ketarunaan Extracurricular Program at SMK Gula Rajawali, Madiun City https://proceedings.ums.ac.id/iceiss/article/view/6321
This study analyzes the influence of the Ketarunaan extracurricular program on improving students’ punctuality at SMK Gula Rajawali, Kota Madiun. Punctuality is a fundamental aspect of character development that is essential for academic, social, and professional success. However, a lack of timeliness remains a persistent challenge in educational environments. The Ketarunaan program at this school is believed to hold significant potential in instilling discipline through its structured and distinctive activities. This research adopts a qualitative approach to explore how the implementation of the Ketarunaan program affects students' punctual behavior. The conceptual framework highlights three main mechanisms through which the program operates. First, the consistent practice of morning assemblies and marching routines trains students to arrive on time. Second, self-awareness training encourages students to understand the value of time and the consequences of indiscipline, fostering internal motivation. Third, a participatory approach and habituation across all Ketarunaan activities actively engage students, making them more motivated to comply with time-related rules. These three pillars synergistically contribute to the enhancement of students’ punctuality. This study aims to provide a comprehensive understanding of the effectiveness of the Ketarunaan program as a strategy for strengthening time discipline and to offer valuable insights for the development of similar programs in other educational institutions.
Itang Enrico Pradana Mahardhika Bambang Sumardjoko Achmad Fathoni Sigit Haryanto Copyright (c) 2025 https://creativecommons.org/licenses/by/4.0 2025-10-22 2025-10-22 223 230 Utilization of Digital Technology as A 21st Century Learning Innovation https://proceedings.ums.ac.id/iceiss/article/view/6322
This study aims to analyze the use of digital technology in the context of 21st century learning innovation, focusing on aspects of educational management and administration. Using a literature study approach, this study examines various national and international literature related to 21st century skills (4C), digital literacy, Learning Management System (LMS), and innovative learning models. The results of the study indicate that the integration of digital technology has a positive impact on learning effectiveness, increasing student participation, and efficiency of educational administration. In addition to pedagogical aspects, the success of digital transformation is greatly influenced by infrastructure readiness, educator competence, and school leadership and policies. The main challenge is found in the form of a digital divide between urban and 3T (underdeveloped, leading, and outermost) areas. This study offers a systemic approach to managing digital learning and suggests the need for cross-sector collaboration to create an adaptive, inclusive, and sustainable education ecosystem.
Wafa Taqiyya Sigit Haryanto Copyright (c) 2025 https://creativecommons.org/licenses/by/4.0 2025-10-22 2025-10-22 231 236 Strategies for Equalizing Educational Access and Social Justice for Underprivileged Communities in Indonesia https://proceedings.ums.ac.id/iceiss/article/view/6323
This study examines strategies for equalizing educational access and promoting social justice for underprivileged communities in Indonesia through a qualitative approach and a literature review method. The research background highlights disparities in educational access due to high costs, geographical inequalities, and weaknesses in the implementation of government assistance policies. The literature review involved 15 journal articles published between 2020-2024, covering themes such as educational inequality, affirmative policies, and the concept of social justice in education. Descriptive-qualitative analysis reveals that although programs such as KIP (Indonesia Smart Card) and BOS (School Operational Assistance) have been implemented, challenges in distribution and data verification continue to hinder equality. Proposed strategies include strengthening community-based affirmative programs, decentralizing assistance policies, integrating social-educational data, improving educational literacy, and fostering cross-institutional partnerships. The findings affirm that educational management models should be oriented toward distributive justice and inclusivity, enabling them to address the economic, cultural, and structural barriers faced by poor communities. This research is expected to contribute theoretically to the sociology of education and provide practical recommendations for policymakers to strengthen educational inclusion for vulnerable groups.
Yudha Suryanjaya Danurwendo Sigit Haryanto Copyright (c) 2025 https://creativecommons.org/licenses/by/4.0 2025-10-22 2025-10-22 237 242 The Role of Parents in Internalizing Islamic Character based on Muhammadiyah Values of Ilmu Amaliah and Amal Ilmiah https://proceedings.ums.ac.id/iceiss/article/view/6324
The Character education is a foundational element in shaping children's personality, particularly in the context of globalization where negative influences are prevalent. In Indonesia, Islamic character education rooted in religious values plays a crucial role in early childhood development. This study focuses on exploring the role of parents in the internalization of Islamic character values based on Muhammadiyah principles, especially Ilmu Amaliah (Practical Knowledge) and Amal Ilmiah (Scientific Practice), as implemented at Aisyiyah Unggulan Gemolong Elementary School. This study employed a qualitative descriptive approach. Data were collected through in-depth interviews with parents and teachers, participatory observation in school activities, and analysis of school documents. The data were then analyzed thematically to identify patterns of parental involvement and the integration of Muhammadiyah values in character education. The findings reveal that parental involvement takes multiple forms, including participation in parenting seminars, school committee meetings, use of communication books, and supervision of daily Islamic routines at home. The school supports this process through structured programs such as daily charity, social service activities, public speaking (khitobah), adhan training, and life skills development. A key component identified is the home visit program, which allows teachers to better understand students' home environments and foster deeper collaboration with families. The synergy between school and parents effectively promotes the internalization of Ilmu Amaliah (knowledge implemented in daily life) and Amal Ilmiah (action informed by reflective and scientific thinking). Through shared values and joint initiatives, students experience Islamic teachings not only cognitively but also through daily habits and social practices. The research underscores the importance of school-family collaboration in fostering Islamic character aligned with Muhammadiyah's progressive Islamic vision.
Siti Fatika Alim Sigit Haryanto Copyright (c) 2025 https://creativecommons.org/licenses/by/4.0 2025-10-22 2025-10-22 243 252 Optimizing Facilities and Infrastructure Management to Support School Bussiness Units as Income Generators https://proceedings.ums.ac.id/iceiss/article/view/6325
This study aims to analyze the infrastructure management strategy in supporting the development of school business units as an alternative funding source at Aisyiyah Gemolong Elementary School. The background of this study is based on the increasing operational needs of community-based private schools and the importance of funding innovation through the productive utilization of school assets. This study uses a descriptive qualitative approach with data collection techniques through in-depth interviews, participatory observation, and documentation. The results show that Aisyiyah Gemolong Elementary School has successfully developed six business units based on school assets, namely the hall as a meeting hall, the school kitchen as Fatimah Catering, the Ayam Geprek Sako food stall, the Khadijah Shop, Aisya Tour and Travel, and the Aisar psychology bureau. These business units are managed by the Vice Principal for Personnel by implementing systematic management functions, starting from planning, organizing, implementing, to monitoring. This approach has a direct impact on increasing school revenue by an average of Rp200,000,000 per month which is used to support teacher welfare, school operations, and social programs such as free Umrah. This study concludes that optimizing facilities and infrastructure through a school entrepreneurship model can be an effective strategy in creating financial independence for educational institutions.
Siti Fatika Alim S Sutama Copyright (c) 2025 https://creativecommons.org/licenses/by/4.0 2025-10-22 2025-10-22 253 259 The Role of School Culture and Climate in Creating A Conducive and Enjoyble Learning Environment https://proceedings.ums.ac.id/iceiss/article/view/6326
School culture and climate are two fundamental pillars that interact in shaping the quality of the learning environment. Although these aspects have received attention in various educational policies, the implementation of school cultural values and the development of a healthy school climate still face several challenges, such as bureaucratic dominance, resistance to change, and the limited socio-emotional competencies of educators. This study aims to explore in depth the role of school culture and climate in creating a conducive and enjoyable learning environment for students in Indonesia. This research employs a descriptive qualitative approach using a literature review method. Data were collected through a systematic review of relevant national sources, including scholarly books, accredited journal articles, and official policy documents published in the last ten years. The data were analyzed thematically and critically to examine the relationship between school culture, school climate, and the quality of the learning environment. The findings indicate that a school culture that upholds values of collaboration, openness, and appreciation for diversity contributes to a school climate that supports students’ psychological well-being and active engagement in learning. Conversely, a school culture that is closed, authoritarian, and bureaucratic tends to create a rigid and pressuring learning climate. Therefore, synergy between school culture and climate is a strategic key to establishing an effective, enjoyable, and meaningful learning process.
Muhammad Affan Baihaqi S Sutama Copyright (c) 2025 https://creativecommons.org/licenses/by/4.0 2025-10-22 2025-10-22 260 266 Optimizing The Marketing of Private School Educational Services through Local Wisdom Approaches https://proceedings.ums.ac.id/iceiss/article/view/6327
This study aims to examine strategies for optimizing the marketing of educational services in private schools through a local wisdom-based approach. Educational service marketing is one of the key factors determining the success of private schools in attracting public interest, increasing student enrollment, and sustaining their existence amid increasingly competitive conditions. However, most marketing strategies implemented thus far tend to rely primarily on modern approaches such as the use of social media, formal branding, and technology-based innovations, without adequately considering the potential of local cultural values within the school's environment. In fact, local wisdom can serve as a unique competitive advantage and as a distinctive identity of the school in the eyes of the community. This study employs a qualitative method with a literature review approach, conducted through the exploration and analysis of scholarly articles, books, and research reports published within the past five years (2020-2025). The findings reveal that integrating local wisdom values into school marketing strategies can strengthen the school's positive image, enhance public trust, and foster stronger emotional connections between schools and their surrounding communities. Local values promoted through school marketing, educational programs, and services are shown to be more easily accepted by the community, as they align with prevailing cultural norms. Therefore, private schools need to formulate marketing strategies that are not only adaptive to contemporary developments but also contextualized with the local wisdom of their surrounding communities. This study is expected to provide theoretical contributions to the development of educational management literature as well as practical references for school administrators in designing relevant and effective marketing strategies.
Yudha Suryanjaya Danurwendo S Sutama Copyright (c) 2025 https://creativecommons.org/licenses/by/4.0 2025-10-22 2025-10-22 267 272 Schools as Value Communities in Shaping Students' Personalities and Culture https://proceedings.ums.ac.id/iceiss/article/view/6328
The phenomenon of declining student character, such as increasing intolerant behavior, weak social responsibility, and the fading value of honesty in the school environment indicates a value crisis that requires a new approach to character education. Most previous research still focuses on instructional-based character education, without a holistic view of the school's function as a value community. This study aims to analyze the role of schools as value communities in shaping students' personalities and culture. This study uses a qualitative approach with library research methods. Relevant scientific sources are analyzed to identify the main dimensions of value communities and their contribution to student character formation. The results of the study indicate that schools that fulfill their role as value communities are able to create social systems that support the internalization of values such as honesty, responsibility, collaboration, tolerance, and respect for local culture. The process of value formation occurs through teacher role models, meaningful social interactions, and consistent school policies and culture. This research provides theoretical and practical contributions in expanding the paradigm of character education from a cognitive-formal approach to an ecological, contextual, and transformative approach through the formation of schools as value communities.
Wafa Taqiyya S Sutama Copyright (c) 2025 https://creativecommons.org/licenses/by/4.0 2025-10-22 2025-10-22 273 280 Islamic Instructional Leadership and Its Influence on Teaching Quality at Pondok Pesantren Wali Songo Sragen https://proceedings.ums.ac.id/iceiss/article/view/6329
This study aims to examine the implementation of Islamic instructional leadership and its influence on the quality of teaching at Pondok Pesantren Wali Songo Sragen, a pesantren that integrates traditional Islamic values with a formal education system. The background of the research is rooted in the phenomenon of declining student performance, which is not solely caused by internal factors, but also by external influences, particularly from the family environment. The research employed a quantitative approach using a correlational survey method. The sample consisted of 11th-grade students and their parents at SMA Islam Al Azhar 7 Solobaru, selected through stratified random sampling. Data were collected using a Likert-scale questionnaire to measure the level of parental involvement, types of family support, and students' academic outcomes, which were assessed through report card scores. The statistical analysis revealed a significant and positive correlation between parental involvement and students' academic achievement (r = 0.642; p < 0.01), as well as between family support and academic achievement (r = 0.599; p < 0.01). Multiple linear regression analysis showed that both variables simultaneously contributed 51.2% to student academic outcomes. The lack of student involvement in national-themed activities and the lack of understanding of national songs indicate the need for learning strategies that can instill these values effectively. This study aims to improve the dimensions of the civic graduate profile through the use of national songs in arts and culture learning. The method used is the Classroom Action Research (CAR) model of Kemmis & McTaggart, which is carried out in two cycles with stages of planning, action, observation, and reflection. The subjects of the study were grade XI students at a high school. Data collection techniques include observation, Likert scale questionnaires, interviews, and documentation. The results of the study showed that there was a significant increase in the civic aspect of students after the implementation of national songbased learning. The average score of the civic questionnaire increased from 3.12 in the preaction to 4.21 in the post-action. In addition, observations show an increase in students' active involvement in learning, as well as the growth of reflective awareness of the meaning of national songs. This study proves that national songs are not only an expression of art, but also an effective educational medium in instilling national character values. The primary objective of this study is to ascertain the distribution of positive, negative, and neutral sentiments. Additionally, it seeks to elucidate how these sentiment patterns are influenced by the crisis communication strategies implemented by each brand during and after the crisis. A descriptive quantitative method employing sentiment analysis was utilized to collect data from user comments on Instagram and TikTok during the crisis period. The findings indicate that The Originote is more likely to elicit a higher proportion of positive sentiments in comparison to Azarine, a discrepancy attributable to The Originote's strategic emphasis on transparency, acknowledgment of missteps, and dedication to ongoing enhancement. In contrast, Azarine exhibits a diminished prevalence of positive sentiment, signifying a potential for persuasion among audiences who have not yet formed a definitive opinion. These findings indicate that brand response patterns directly influence public sentiment distribution, which in turn affects post-crisis image recovery. This study offers practical implications for local brands to integrate crisis mitigation strategies with proactive public sentiment management. It also opens avenues for further research on the relationship between sentiment intensity and consumer loyalty in the beauty industry.
Estri Khidmatul Husniyah Bambang Dwi Prasetyo Fitri Hariana Oktaviani Copyright (c) 2025 https://creativecommons.org/licenses/by/4.0 2025-10-22 2025-10-22 352 359 The Role of Human Resource Management in Preparing Organizations for Transformation in The 4.0 Era https://proceedings.ums.ac.id/iceiss/article/view/6340
The Industrial Era 4.0 has brought major changes in various aspects of organizations, including how human resource management (HR) plays a role in preparing for digital transformation. One sector that has experienced rapid growth due to this development is the smartphone industry. Intense competition among manufacturers has driven the emergence of various product innovations to meet consumer needs and preferences, including support for sustainability values. Xiaomi has become one of the leading brands in the Indonesian market by offering affordable pricing strategies through popular sub-brands such as Redmi and Poco. This study is grounded in the Triple Bottom Line theory and the concept of marketing communication as its theoretical framework. The research utilizes a quantitative method with an associative design. The sampling process applied purposive sampling, and the data were analyzed using Partial Least Squares Structural Equation Modeling (PLS-SEM) through SmartPLS version 4.1.1.2. The findings demonstrate that all direct paths in the proposed model exert a positive and significant effect on Purchase Decisions. However, the indirect effects through Brand Image are not significant, indicating that Brand Image does not mediate the relationship between Word of Mouth and Green Product Innovatioan with Purchase Decisions. Therefore, product innovation and communication strategies should focus directly on influencing consumer Purchase Decisions.
Salsabela Oktanur Ichwana Poppy Alvianolita Sanistasya Annisa Wahyuni Arsyad Mukhibatul Hikmah Copyright (c) 2025 https://creativecommons.org/licenses/by/4.0 2025-10-22 2025-10-22 373 382 The Influence of Stock Liquidity, Debt Maturity and Institutional Ownership on The Stock Price Crash Risk of Companies Listed on The LQ45 Index from 2019-2023 https://proceedings.ums.ac.id/iceiss/article/view/6343
This study aims to analyze the effect of stock liquidity, debt maturity, and institutional ownership on the stock price crash risk of companies listed on the LQ45 index from 2019 to 2023. Grounded in the Theory of Planned Behavior, TSE reflects perceived behavioral control, while TM functions as a motivational driver that can strengthen intention formation. A quantitative survey was conducted with 224 non-engineering undergraduates at Universitas Pendidikan Indonesia who had completed at least one entrepreneurship-related course. Data were collected via an online questionnaire using validated measurement scales and analyzed through Partial Least Squares-Structural Equation Modeling (PLS-SEM). The results reveal that TSE has a significant positive effect on TI (p < 0.001), TM positively influences TI (p < 0.001), and TM significantly moderates the TSE-TI relationship (p = 0.014), although with a small effect size. The model accounts for 65.9% of the variance in TI, emphasizing the combined influence of capability beliefs and motivational forces on technopreneurial intentions. These findings extend the Theory of Planned Behavior by integrating a motivational construct into the prediction of technology-based entrepreneurial intention, particularly within the underexplored context of non-technical students. The study recommends that higher education institutions adopt integrative interventions—such as experiential learning, mentoring, and digital business simulations—to concurrently strengthen self-efficacy and nurture intrinsic motivation, thereby fostering a more inclusive and innovative technopreneurship ecosystem.
Farma Ladia Saady K Kurjono Heni Mulyani Copyright (c) 2025 https://creativecommons.org/licenses/by/4.0 2025-10-22 2025-10-22 402 408 The Impact of Entrepreneurship Education on Sociopreneurship Intention: The Moderating Role of Past Experience https://proceedings.ums.ac.id/iceiss/article/view/6346
The increasing prevalence of social issues, such as poverty, environmental degradation, and inequality, highlights the urgent need for innovative solutions that combine economic and social value creation. Sociopreneurship has emerged as a promising approach to addressing these challenges. However, preliminary surveys indicate that university students' sociopreneurship intention remains low, despite their exposure to entrepreneurship education. This study investigates the influence of entrepreneurship education and self-efficacy on sociopreneurship intention, with past experience as a moderating variable. Using a quantitative approach, data were collected from students of FPMIPA, FPIPS, and FPEB at Universitas Pendidikan Indonesia who had completed entrepreneurship courses and participated in social organizations. Data analysis was conducted using Partial Least Squares–Structural Equation Modeling (PLS-SEM). The findings reveal that both entrepreneurship education positively and significantly affect sociopreneurship intention. Furthermore, past experience significantly moderates the relationship between entrepreneurship education and sociopreneurship intention, indicating that relevant experiences can enhance the educational impact. These results emphasize the importance of integrating experiential learning into entrepreneurship curricula to strengthen students’ readiness and motivation to become sociopreneurs.
Salsabila Fitria Anggraeni K Kurjono Heni Mulyani Copyright (c) 2025 https://creativecommons.org/licenses/by/4.0 2025-10-22 2025-10-22 409 419 The Effect of Earnings Management and Dividend Policy on Company Performance: The Moderating Role of Corporate Governance Quality https://proceedings.ums.ac.id/iceiss/article/view/6347
This study was conducted to determine the effect of earnings management and dividend policy on company performance with the quality of corporate governance as moderation in energy sector companies listed on the Indonesia Stock Exchange (IDX) in 2018-2022. Using a quantitative approach, the study features an associative and cross-sectional design. The participants were students who frequented these coffee shops, with a sample size of 100 respondents gathered through volunteer sampling. Data collection was carried out by distributing online surveys via Google Forms, employing a Likert scale for measurement. The research tool was assessed for both validity and reliability, showing that all items had a validity score above 0.30, and Cronbach's Alpha reliability was an impressive 0.928, indicating very high consistency. For data analysis, multiple linear regression was used to evaluate both the combined and individual effects of the independent variables (product, price, promotion, place) on the dependent variable (purchase decision). The results revealed that all four independent variables significantly impact student purchasing decisions (p < 0.05; R² = 0.741). Specifically, the promotion (X4) and place (X3) variables had a notable effect (p < 0.05), while price (X2) and product (X1) did not show significant effects (p > 0.05). This indicates that factors like location convenience and effective promotions play a more crucial role in shaping students' buying choices than product and price. Therefore, it’s recommended that coffee shop owners focus on improving location accessibility and marketing strategies to attract and retain customers, especially students.
Ahmad Asad Amany Tri Nur Wahyudi Copyright (c) 2025 https://creativecommons.org/licenses/by/4.0 2025-10-22 2025-10-22 444 450 The Role of Field Work Practice and Organizational Activities in Shaping The Work Readiness of Accounting Education Students https://proceedings.ums.ac.id/iceiss/article/view/6351
This study aims to analyze the effect of Field Work Practice (KKL) and organizational involvement on the work readiness of students in the Accounting Education Study Program at Universitas Muhammadiyah Surakarta. The background of this review is rooted in the limited access to relevant STEM education for Muslim communities, particularly in rural and peri-urban areas, alongside the substantial potential of Islamic non-formal educational institutions-such as Islamic boarding schools (pesantren), Qur'anic learning centers (TPA), and Islamic study groups (majelis taklim)-to serve as venues for contextual learning. The research employed a literature review of over 50 sources-including peer-reviewed journals, academic books, policy documents, and research reports-analyzed thematically and critically. The analysis process involved thematic coding, conceptual synthesis, critical evaluation, and the construction of a conceptual model. Findings indicate that an effective STEM innovation ecosystem requires six key components: (1) community-based learning environments, (2) local actors serving as facilitators, (3) contextual curricula integrated with Islamic values, (4) project-based learning methods, (5) accessible low-tech support, and (6) strategic partnerships with external stakeholders. This model is holistic and participatory, aligning with the social, cultural, and spiritual characteristics of Muslim communities. The findings provide a conceptual contribution to value-driven, locally grounded non-formal education innovations and offer insights for more responsive policy and practical frameworks. The study recommends capacity-building for facilitators, adaptive curriculum development, and strengthened multi-sectoral collaboration as strategic measures for the sustainable implementation of the model.
Indri Ajeng Setyoningrum Tri Handoko Copyright (c) 2026 https://creativecommons.org/licenses/by/4.0 2025-10-22 2025-10-22 536 545 Constructing and Validating A Contextual Grit Scale for University Students in Indonesia: A Psychometric Study https://proceedings.ums.ac.id/iceiss/article/view/6791
This study aims to develop and evaluate the psychometric properties of a grit measurement instrument for university students in Indonesia, with a specific focus on the Bandung region. The theoretical framework conceptualized grit as comprising two core dimensions: perseverance of effort and consistency of interest. Thirty-two items were initially developed based on seven behavioral indicators and evaluated through expert judgment, language clarity tests, and item discrimination analysis. After a series of empirical tests involving 100 students for the tryout, 200 for the field test, and 40 for the test-retest, 14 items were retained based on reliability and validity criteria. Confirmatory Factor Analysis (CFA) supported the two-dimensional model with acceptable goodness-of-fit indices (RMSEA = 0.032, CFI = 0.977, TLI = 0.964, SRMR = 0.044). Internal consistency reliability was satisfactory (Cronbach's α = 0.790), and test- retest results demonstrated high temporal stability (r = 0.953, p < .001). These findings indicate that the developed grit scale is a valid and reliable instrument for assessing grit among Indonesian university students and can be applied in educational psychology research and interventions.
Muhamad Syamsul Hayat Rika Dwi Agustiningsih Novita Sari Copyright (c) 2026 https://creativecommons.org/licenses/by/4.0 2025-10-22 2025-10-22 546 561
