Abstract

This study aims to analyze syntactic errors in Eka Kurniawan's short stories, namely Cantik itu Luka (Beauty is a Wound), Love Never Dies, and Like Revenge, Rindu Must Be Paid Tuntas (Vengeance is Mine, All Others Pay Cash). The approach used is qualitative with a descriptive method. Data were collected through text analysis, in which sentences containing syntactic errors were noted and examined. The findings reveal various syntactic errors, particularly in the use of compound sentences, improper phrase combinations, and the inappropriate use of conjunctions. Nevertheless, these errors contribute to the distinctive characteristics of Eka Kurniawan's writing style, which often employs non-standard sentence structures to create a certain narrative atmosphere. This research is expected to contribute to the understanding of syntax in Indonesian literature.
